Mr. Vo Duc Thanh – Project Management Board of investment and construction of civil and industrial projects – said that the new construction project of Ton Duc Thang museum includes 1 basement and 4 floors, with a height of 20m, total floor area more than 8,551m2. Total investment is nearly 276 billion.

The museum will have 2,000m2 display area, meeting the need of displaying 5 regular themes, short-term displays as well as conducting experience activities; 5 times larger than the existing display area.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Liem – Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City – said Ton Duc Thang Museum is the only place in the country to introduce quite fully and systematically about life and career. by President Ton Duc Thang.

The museum has Over 16,000 exhibits and documents are being kept, including more than 1,170 original artifacts. However, the museum’s facilities have been degraded and the layout space is still limited.

Therefore, the reconstruction of the museum is very necessary and urgent to ensure the safety of artifacts and documents.

Mr. Liem suggested the units in the process of construction in accordance with the rituals, ensuring the original state of the artifact; control and speed up the construction progress of works with efficiency in quality and safety.
